Software Platform for RTLS and Sensory Network Data Simplifies Interoperability in Healthcare

Intelligent InSites unveils new version of the InSites Enterprise Visibility Platform to expand the use of real-time location and wireless sensor technologies in hospitals and senior care facilities

Fargo, ND – Feb 2, 2010 - Intelligent InSites Inc. has announced a major new release of its award-winning real-time enterprise visibility and automation platform, which enables healthcare organizations to improve visibility into their operations and make profound improvements in areas such as patient and staff safety, workflow optimization, asset and inventory management, and regulatory compliance.

The new release of the InSites Enterprise Visibility Platform™ (InSites Platform) delivers benefits to the end user by enabling the integration of real-time location and sensory networks data with most software applications, communication devices, and building systems used in the healthcare environment. Several software providers have or are in the process of location-enabling their applications and systems, including solutions for asset management, staff communication, and nurse call to deliver additional value to their existing offering. Similarly, hardware system and device providers are integrating their products with the InSites Platform so that any connected application can use and benefit from the data it produces.

These InSites Enabled™ products take advantage of the open and non-proprietary architecture of the InSites Platform by allowing any connected software application to consume real-time location and sensory data generated by the devices through standardized web-based APIs, and even provide two way communication and control capabilities if the devices support it – such as door locks, lights, or text displays. The InSites Platform also serves as a data-exchange hub for all InSites Enabled applications and devices, which allows for increased interoperability between client’s existing legacy systems as well as future healthcare applications and systems.
