Doug Burgum – Interim President and CEO Doug’s professional career began in the early ’80s when he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in its Chicago office. In 1983, he returned to his native North Dakota and literally “bet the family farm” when he provided the seed capital for Great Plains—then a very small startup company in the fledgling PC software industry. Shortly thereafter he became the company’s chairman and CEO. Driven by a strong vision and powerful dream, he led Great Plains to a worldwide presence and its successful initial public offering in 1997.
Recognizing and respecting Great Plains’ leadership position in the business applications software market, Microsoft Corporation acquired the company in 2001 for $1.1 billion. At the time, it was the largest acquisition Microsoft had ever completed.
Doug has served as an investor and board member of SuccessFactors, a cloud-based leader in business execution software, since October 2007 and as board chair since June 2010. SAP acquired SuccessFactors in February 2012 for $3.4 billion.
He also serves as chairman and founder of Kilbourne Group, a company committed to inspiring and supporting the redevelopment of downtown Fargo. As co-founder and chairman of Arthur Ventures, he is actively involved in the venture capital fund’s investments in AltraVax, a bio-pharmaceutical company using next-generation technology for vaccine development, as well as in Intelligent InSites.
He was the largest initial outside seed investor in Take Care Health Systems (now known as Take Care Clinic), a startup company that changed the healthcare landscape. Formed in February 2006, Take Care Health Systems was acquired by Walgreens in May 2007.
Dr. Raymond Gruby – Chief Medical Officer With more than 30 years of hands-on medical experience as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Gruby brought with him a wealth of real-world healthcare experience as the company was launched. Drawing from his experiences of implementing several new technologies to improve the processes and information access in his own practice, Dr. Gruby is a recognized expert in streamlining healthcare processes through the use of mobile wireless technologies and advanced workflow software applications. In his role at the company, Dr. Gruby is responsible for chairing the Board of Directors, providing market knowledge and direction to the company related to the healthcare space, providing input and assistance to the Intelligent InSites product team, and assisting in setting the company's strategy and goals. Dr. Gruby is a member of the North Dakota Healthcare IT Steering Committee, a Board of Trustees member for the University of Mary, Medical Director for the University of Mary Athletic Trainer program, and a Fellow for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Texas.
Thomas Schneider – Chief Operating Officer Tom Schneider is responsible for leading the company operations, including professional services, service and support, facilities, information technology, human resources, legal, and all other administrative functions. He has over 25 years of leadership in high technology, distribution, and energy related companies. He brings proven results and executive level experience in operations, sales and marketing, supply chains, strategic planning, distribution, business development, market analysis, systems development, organizational design, engineering, and project management. Schneider has extensive knowledge in the technology and energy areas, working with clients ranging from Fortune 100 to small businesses. Prior to joining Intelligent InSites, he was President of MagTec Energy, and also spent over ten years at Border States Industries, one of the largest independent electrical distributors in the United States, holding Vice President level positions in the sales and marketing areas. Schneider holds an MBA from the University of North Dakota, a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Dakota State University, and an AA Degree from Bismarck State College.
Trevor Gruby – Chief Technical Officer Since the inception of the company, Trevor Gruby has been responsible for designing and developing the InSites solution. With over a decade of experience in developing comprehensive healthcare solutions, Gruby is an expert in the areas of enterprise hosted medical systems as well as mobile wireless devices. His previous experience includes transactional web-tier development for UHC, designing and developing the security infrastructure for HealthNexis (an on-line durable medical goods exchange later acquired by GHX), and the development of a series of RxHub's services, including the master patient index. With a focused emphasis on clinical encounter automation, Gruby earned his Masters Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
George Sun – Vice President of Sales George Sun is responsible for sales at Intelligent InSites. He has extensive sales and sales management experience over the last 30 years in healthcare and other industries, demonstrating strategic sales leadership at companies including Awarepoint, Time Domain, Healthvision, Spacenet, Eastman Kodak, and IBM. Before joining Intelligent InSites, George was the Vice President of National Accounts at Awarepoint. In the recent past, he led the Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE) growth strategy with Healthvision, and he was the architect of an eHealthcare ASP venture for clinical applications at Vicor, Inc. George has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California, Davis.
Marcus Ruark –Vice President of Marketing Marcus Ruark leads the company’s marketing and communications strategy, promoting Intelligent InSites’ enterprise-class healthcare RTLS solution for optimizing asset management and transforming patient flow. Previously, as Intelligent InSites’ Director of Business Development, Ruark expanded the company’s opportunities for improving operational efficiencies in healthcare, including working with customers to optimize asset management processes, developing the Intelligent InSites’ asset management methodology program, creating a partner launch program, and managing Intelligent InSites’ lead role in the inaugural RFID & RTLS Showcase at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2011 Conference and Exhibition. Ruark’s experience includes over 15 years of starting up and leading companies, including launching new products, forging partnerships, heading up sales and marketing, and building industry-leading organizations. Ruark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, both from Stanford University.
Houston Klassen – Vice President, Strategic Accounts Houston Klassen brings a wealth of experience in assisting healthcare organizations in maximizing their existing and future IS investments. Through his deep understanding of healthcare operations and business processes, he helps healthcare providers develop real-time location and process automation strategies that align with the hospital’s goals and improve key operational processes to achieve a lean healthcare environment. In the past, Klassen has handled a gamut of sales and marketing duties and roles, most recently as the US Director of Sales and Marketing for a leading healthcare technology provider. Klassen also served as the Worldwide Sales Director for the enterprise software group at Echelon Corporation, a global supplier of infrastructure hardware and software for the device networking market. Klassen holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, from Briar Cliff University.
Ralf Mehnert-Meland – Director of Developer/OEM Relationships Ralf Mehnert-Meland is responsible for managing the company’s developer and OEM partners, working with them to integrate and bundle the InSites Platform with their solutions, and empowering them with real-time, automatically-collected data from a broad range of real-time location technologies, sensor networks, and information systems. He previously worked in business development and legal roles with SAP AG (Germany), BeAtHome, and Great Plains Software. Ralf earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and International Marketing from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Jim Traynor – Director of Client/Channel Management Jim Traynor is responsible for ensuring success of Intelligent InSites’ clients by helping them realize meaningful and sustainable improvements to their operations and outcomes. He also supports the Intelligent InSites’ partner channel to deliver solutions that bring fundamental change and improvement to both operational efficiency and patient outcomes. Jim’s professional history includes various management positions at Microsoft, Great Plains Software, Apple Computer, Inc., and Compaq. While at Microsoft, he championed an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) initiative focused on developing vertical applications for Microsoft business applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) software. He holds an Economics degree from the University of North Dakota and a Masters in Management from the University of Mary, ND.
Carol Tweten – Director of Product Management Carol Tweten manages the overall product portfolio; including market and product strategies, roadmaps, research, competitive analysis, and product launches. Tweten has a strong background in domestic and international product management, new business development, strategic alliances and acquisitions/integrations. She has previously worked at Motorola and several technology and software start-up companies. Tweten earned a Bachelors of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary, and a Masters of Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Chicago.
