Dr. Raymond Gruby – Chairman of the Board
With more than 30 years of hands-on medical experience as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Gruby brought with him a wealth of real-world healthcare experience as the company was launched. Drawing from his experiences of implementing several new technologies to improve the processes and information access in his own practice, Dr. Gruby is a recognized expert in streamlining healthcare processes through the use of mobile wireless technologies and advanced workflow software applications. In his role at the company, Dr. Gruby is responsible for chairing the Board of Directors, providing market knowledge and direction to the company related to the healthcare space, providing input and assistance to the Intelligent InSites product team, and assisting in setting the company's strategy and goals.
Dr. Gruby is a member of the North Dakota Healthcare IT Steering Committee, a Board of Trustees member for the University of Mary, Medical Director for the University of Mary Athletic Trainer program, and a Fellow for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Texas.
Douglas J. Burgum – Board of Directors
Douglas J. Burgum is the co-founder and Chairman of the Arthur Ventures Growth Fund. Doug’s career spans the world of business from entrepreneurship in a small startup to global corporate executive at Microsoft – one of the most influential companies in the world. His path and influence in the development of the business applications software industry for mid-market companies is globally recognized in part by his philosophy and leadership style that has touched many throughout his career. Doug is the former Sr. Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions Group. Before joining Microsoft, Doug was chairman and CEO of Great Plains Software Inc., a midmarket software company that Microsoft acquired for over $1 billion in April 2001. In July 2002, Doug led Microsoft’s $2 billion dollar acquisition of Navision a/s, a Denmark-based midmarket software company. The two companies combined to create Microsoft Business Solutions.
A North Dakota native, Doug earned his bachelor of university studies degree from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in 1978 and his MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1980. Before joining the then-startup company Great Plains in 1983, Doug was a consultant at McKinsey & Co. He received honorary doctorate degrees from NDSU and the University of Mary in 2000 and 2006 respectively. Since retirement from Microsoft Doug has actively participated in community and business activities. He currently serves as a member of the advisory council for the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is on the board of directors of Arthur Companies Inc., Success Factors, Inc., and Intelligent InSites Inc. Doug was also an early-stage investor in Take Care Health Systems that was sold to Walgreens in 2007. Doug is active in the community through his personal Doug Burgum Family Foundation that focuses on youth and education and in the Kilbourne Group, a real-estate development firm focused on carrying forward the history of Fargo through the development and renovation of historic buildings and sites.
Dr. Joseph Carlson – Board of Directors
Dr. Carlson is an accomplished medical doctor with over 19 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon, the last 14 years as a partner at the Bone and Joint Center in Bismarck, ND. Dr. Carlson has extensive research and teaching experience through his time serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. In 1999-2000, he was awarded the Wayne Swenson, M.D. award for teaching excellence. Dr. Carlson has also served as Team Physician for the University of Mary and the Dakota Wizards professional basketball team.
Dr. Carlson serves on the board of directors for the Bone and Joint Center, and is also a board member for the Bismarck Surgical Associates and the Delta Waterfowl organization. He received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from the University of North Dakota, and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Akron Medical Center. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Carlson has served as a member of the Intelligent InSites board of directors since May 25, 2006.
Mark Rheault – Board of Directors
Mark Rheault provides strategic vision and executive directions for Intelligent InSites – the market and technology leader in providing enterprise visibility solutions for healthcare. Rheault's innovative spirit and his extensive healthcare and technology experience led to the creation of the InSites Enterprise Visibility Platform™ - a standard for process and workflow automation in healthcare. Prior to co-founding Intelligent InSites, Rheault helped launch and grow several technology companies through his executive consulting practice. In 1999, Rheault helped grow a technology startup, BeAtHome, from the garage to a successful acquisition by Echelon in 2002. During that time, his products won the Consumer Electronics "Best of Show" award in 2001 and again in 2002. Rheault also spent five years leading a development team at MeritCare Health System, where he designed and developed the first web-based patient flow application in 1997. Rheault holds an MBA from North Dakota State University and a BS in Business from Southern Illinois University. He is a member of the Advisory Committee for the NDSU Center of Technology Enterprise, an Alien Technology Fellow, and a certified PMI Project Management Professional. Rheault has been widely recognized by the community for creating many high-tech jobs in North Dakota and his entrepreneurial achievements.
Trevor Gruby – Board of Directors
Since the inception of the company, Trevor Gruby has been responsible for designing and developing the InSites solution. With over a decade of experience in developing comprehensive healthcare solutions, Gruby is an expert in the areas of enterprise hosted medical systems as well as mobile wireless devices. His previous experience includes transactional web-tier development for UHC, designing and developing the security infrastructure for HealthNexis (an on-line durable medical goods exchange later acquired by GHX), and the development of a series of RxHub's services, including the master patient index. With a focused emphasis on clinical encounter automation, Gruby earned his Masters Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
